Ruth IreneVredenburg was born on June 3, 1915 at home in Centerville, thedaughter of David Thomas and Bessie Mae Heriford Taylor. She was agraduate of Centerville High School and attended Graceland College inLamoni. At Graceland, she met Dwight Vredenburg, whom she married onApril 25, 1937 in Chillicothe, Mo. They were married 65 years and wereparents of the children. She worked side by side with Dwight in theCenterville Hy-Vee store before moving to Chariton.
