Rhoda Mott was a sister of James Mott, husband of the well-knownQuaker feminist and reformer, Lucretia Coffin Mott (1793-1880).Lucretia lectured extensively for temperance, peace, labor rights andthe abolition of the death penalty and slavery. She aided fugitiveslaves and helped form the Philadelphia Female Anti-Slavery Society.When the World Anti-Slavery Convention in London (1840) refused torecognize women delegates, Lucretia joined Elizabeth Cady Stanton inorganizing the first ever women's rights convention (1848) in SenecaFalls, NY.
